There are two reasons why I have quit in the past:
1) Time
2) Patience
As I reflect on all the times I quit, I am also reminded of the times I persevered to achieve my goals.
The times I worked hard to achieve my goals required those same two key elements:
1) Time
2) Patience
My greatest accomplishments required a lot of time. I think about my bachelor's degree. It took me four years to complete this goal. My master's degree was achieved in two and a half years.
Achieving my fitness goals has taken me five years. I strongly believe my best years are ahead of me because my fitness journey is never ending.
As for patience, it is important to stay consistent and stick to the "plan."
For many of you seeking to lose weight this year, physical transformation does not happen overnight. It takes a few months to see results, so be patient. You will physically "feel" better before you actually see results. For example, you may experience more energy and a positive attitude.
Getting in shape is not a race. Living a fit and healthy life is a marathon. Once you reach a level of fitness and reach your goals, continue to press forward. The objective is to continue pressing forward and create new goals.
Quitting is easy, I am guilty of it. I do know that the times in my life that I preserved, the reward was great.
I wish you all the best, Fit Family!
